Tottenham’s current good form continued on Tuesday as they beat Swansea 2-0 away from home, despite the absence of Harry Kane from the starting lineup due to illness. This followed on from a 5-2 thrashing of Southampton and a 3-0 win over Burnley to make it three wins on the bounce.

Spur’s have had their issues in the Premier League this season, but they have now won five of their last six matches and put themselves within four points of the top four. This is their game in hand, and a victory would leave them just a point behind Liverpool in 4th.

Most of their issues this season came earlier on in the campaign as they struggled to adapt to life at Wembley, but they finally seem to have that under control now and have won six of their last seven games there in all competitions. Coincidentally, the last team to beat them at Wembley was West Ham in a thrilling 3-2 match in the League Cup. In the Premier League, however, they are unbeaten since August and have won six of their nine games since then.
West Ham are having a frustratingly inconsistent season, which has been characterised by a number of high scoring games both for and against them. Their last outing was Tuesday’s 2-1 win over West Brom at the London Stadium, but they are still down in 16th position with 21 points from their 21 games. Things are very tight in that area of the table though, and should they take advantage of this game in hand they would move up to 11th.

It’s not overly likely that The Hammers will be able to pull that off though. Not only are they facing an in form Tottenham side, but they have only won one of their away days in the Premier League this season. Admittedly they have impressed lately with three goals in each of their last two trips away, but those came against Stoke and Bournemouth. Prior to that they had lost three on the bounce, including a 4-0 thrashing at Everton.

West Ham’s shoddy defending and occasionally excellent attack has resulted in a lot of high scoring games though. Eight of their 11 away days have seen at least three goals, and with Spurs scoring 18 goals in their last six home matches, backing a Tottenham Win and both team to score yes, looks a great choice alongside.
